Greetings from Pastor Ron
Pastor Ronald Joseph Regular accepted God’s call to shepherd Rowland Chapel Christian Church on Sunday, October 2, 2016. He loves the Lord and wants to share his passion with God’s people that, together, all may come to Love the Lord more deeply and learn more about Him. Pastor Ron, his wife Carol (Faulk) and son Ronald II moved to Cary in 1992 from Roosevelt (Long Island) NY. Their daughter, Renata, resides in the Atlanta area. They have 10 grandchildren.
Pastor Ron and his sisters (Henrietta, Sheron and Elizabeth) were raised by their foster parents in a Christian home (in Roosevelt NY) and were PKs (Preacher’s Kids.) He loved serving the Lord at an early age doing whatever he could around the church as well as singing in the choirs (or with his friends under street lights.) Pastor Ron was a Deacon, Choir Director, Sunday School Teacher and Pastor’s Aid President.
God tugged on Pastor Ron’s heart in 1982 and he accepted the call to the Preaching Ministry at the Hampton Ministers’ Conference. He began his Christian studies at NY Theological Seminary and continued his studies at the College of New Rochelle, NY, Shaw University and Apex School of Theology. Pastor Ron was ordained, “Assistant to the Pastor” in 1988 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Port Washington, NY. He also served as General Secretary of the Association in Long Island (and Managing Editor of its Newsletter) and of the NY General Baptist State Convention.
Pastor Ron pastored Littlefield MBC in Newton Grove, NC for 5 1/2 years and raised thousands of dollars in a Church enlargement effort. He worked with the Western Union Association as Chairman of the Ways & Means Committee for their Multi-Purpose Building Project; wrote syllabi and taught Pastor Classes during the Women’s Convention of the NC GBSC.
Teaching, eating, studying God’s Word, traveling and visiting (when Carol pulls him away) are some of the things Pastor Ron enjoys. He and Carol both volunteer with the Cary Police Dept. as members of CAP (Citizens Assisting the Police) and Building Bridges (Ministers, Community Leaders and Police Officers meet proactively to discuss racial issues.) Carol volunteers with Dorcas Ministries (Crisis Intervention) and the Carying Place (Transitional Housing Program.)
Pastor Ron’s and Carol’s mission is in line with Rowland Chapel’s mission, “Serving Christ by Ministering to the Needs of Others.” (Matt 25:35-40.) His vision is the same as that of Jesus in His High Priestly Prayer found in John 17:11, “… that they may be one, as we are.”
To God be the glory.
I Samuel 13:14
"The Lord has sought out a man after His own heart and appointed him leader of His people."
